Barack H. ObamaSehaj Lally, 8B”Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. We are the change that we seek” (Obama). Barack H. Obama has become an astounding role model to millions of people around the world and those countless people include me. Obama has trust and hope in the future of the world. Furthermore, Obama has proven that we all can make a better world together and has proven this many times by encouraging many people. For example, in 2014 he went to a Global Citizen Festival that helps end poverty and there Barack Obama had sent a lot of encouragement to the people of the world to start or continue helping because he said that “this is a battle for all of us to fight and most importantly we can win!” Barack H. Obama is a global citizen because he has made many caring and respectful actions to help support the world to make it a more equitable, sustainable and peaceful place. For his actions, he has also received the Nobel Peace Prize.Firstly, Barack H. Obama has shown respect and value to diversity in communities . But at first, he was just an average citizen who moved to Chicago, where he pursued a job as a community organizer with a church-based group . Then later on, he worked with low-income citizens for several years in Chicago’s Roseland community and the Altgeld Gardens public housing development. The Altgeld Gardens public housing development has 97% amount of citizens being African Americans. It was a great help In order to get a better housing for African Americans returning from World War 2 on 1956. Then later in 1996, Barack H. Obama officially and publicly launched his own political career then he won election to the Illinois State Senate as a Democrat politician from the South Side neighbourhood of the Hyde Park. Being strong Republican in the state senate, Barack H. Obama was able to build support among both Democrats and Republicans in drafting legislation on ethics and health care reform. He helped create a state earned-income tax credit that benefited the the people who are working and yet poor, promoted subsidies for early childhood education programs and worked with law enforcement officials to require them videotaping of interrogations and confessions in all capital cases of not following the law. After that, Barack H. Obama became the president of the United States of America. In his career of being the president, he has made multiple speeches that show value and respect to all races. For example, on March 18 2008, he made a speech on how everyone’s background matters and on November 7, 2012, he made a speech on empowerment through diversity. Moreover, Barack H. Obama used his last speech to remind us all that all of us are the citizens of the same world. In addition, Barack H. Obama could not stand many racial and/or poverty going around that made him outraged, upset, frustrated and angry about a social injustice. Some of these social injustices include racial slurs, racial stereotypes, people in poverty/hunger, and he wanted to give affordable care to as many people as possible. The reason why Barack H. Obama could not stand racial slurs is because he believes in equality and empowerment through diversity. This made Obama frustrated and worried about how this might be happening in many places in America. This led him to start to support many anti-racism campaigns and movements. Furthermore, Barack Obama could not stand to see or hear people in poverty. They made him make a speech in 2014 encouraging many people around the world to end hunger once in for all. Also, one of the biggest social injustices Barack Obama could not stand was Americans not being able to afford care and/or health insurance. Therefore, the affordable care act made by Barack Obama iscalled Obamacare. Obamacare was made to help Americans expand patient protections, for example, by stopping insurers from charging more for pre-existing conditions or setting money limits on care. Make health insurance more affordable, for example, by expanding cost assistance based on income to lower health insurance premiums and out-of-pocket costs and by expanding Medicaid to all adults based on income. Improve the quality of health insurance and healthcare for example, by requiring essential benefits on all plans and rewarding hospitals for quality over quantity. And finally by curbing costs. For example, via regulations and taxes on those who benefit the most from healthcare reform like insurers and drug companies.Barack H. Obama has participated in the community multiple ways to make the world a more equitable, sustainable and peaceful place. He has done this multiple times but some remarkable examples are he backed up marriage equality in a historic supreme court decision, this has made the majority of Americans to agree with this decision, this made the U.S.A more equitable. Obama restored relationships with Cuba as a gesture of peace that was 60 years in the making, he helped create the world’s first in-depth climate agreement which is the Paris agreement. This has planned to make the world a better place and a much more sustainable place for everyone. Furthermore, Barack Obama made many incomes rise of many citizens that deserved the raise. Finally, and most importantly he had made Obamacare which made 20 million Americans more accessible to health issues and insurance. In conclusion, Barack H. Obama has proven to be a global citizen because he has made individuals cooperate for good cause between people which awarded him the Nobel peace prize, he does a lot to help the less fortunate that can’t afford healthcare and the hungry. He has also made peace with many places including Cuba. As well, Obama has stopped many racial activities going around. Also, Barack Obama has made marriage equality in the United States of America for all people. Barack H. Obama is the role model for many people and that means that he has exceeded the expectations that many people had for him. Finally, is Barack H.
