Students experiencegreat amounts of stress, weather teenagers, and college or university agestudents. There are many causes of academic pressure like parents.Parents push their children towards getting 1st position in the class. Besides this, parents havehigh expectations and aspirations to their children. One of the big problems ofacademic pressure is extended family that’s way parents wanted glare in fullfamily and they squeeze them for obtaining high grades or GPA.
Peerpressure is another cause of academic stress. Students do the competition totheir class fellows or age fellows and other siblings. Due to neighborhoodinfluence students become pressurized and feel inferiority. If we talk aboutschool or institute, we discuss about faculty member. A few studies haveinvestigated faculty viewpoint of student` behavior.
Studies marked thatstudent behavior is associated to the attitude of faculty members. Teacher isone of most prominent stressor he/she have the very high expectations and pressurizedthe pupils towards uphill task. As well as teacher may be biased and studentfeels pressurized during class period and examination. Do these factors reallycause problem and academic stress? Causes of stress on studentsinclude both positive and negative stress. College students experience highstress at predictable times each semester due to academic commitments,financial pressure, and lack of time management skills, when stress isperceived negatively or becomes excessive ,it can affect both health andacademic performance.(Campbell & Svenson ,1992) Stress inacademic institutions can have both positive and negative consequences it notwell managed.
( Stetsons & Harper,2006) There are several Negativeeffects of academic stress are stifle creativity, they becomeanger, student feel frustration and suffer in anxiety or depression.They leads to lower production , and lack of interest in studies,Other then they may include cheating in exams or class testand they adopt the rash coping strategies. A recent study in 2010 statedthat 75% of students that were interview admitted to cheating. (RutgersManagement Education Center, 2010) Positive effects of academic pressure arestudents motivate towards academic, they able to do anything effectively andthey can achieve their educational goals. Academic Pressure Surveysays—– that 70% of students at top high school often or alwaysfeel stressed by their schoolwork. 56 %often or always worry about grades,tests and college acceptance.
