Abstract—Theproject is intended to give easy access to the students for canteen thereforemaking it convenient for both students and working staff of canteen. Thecanteen management system will result in time saving of the students. Our purposeof this project is to reduce the manual work and make canteen more computerizedthereby making it more efficient, faster and user friendly. Our attempt is toincrease the sales of the canteen by using this software. The existing systemis highly manual.

It is sluggish and consumes a lot of time causinginconvenience to costumers. The system provides for user-id validation, henceunauthorized access is prevented. Details of all the items is displayed alongwith the prices and special offers. The students can select whatever items theywish to. The total amount of all the items is displayed before confirmation oforder. On selecting the items to be ordered, then confirming the order, thecustomer will be given an estimated time required for his/her order to beserved.

The customer can then choose to thus place the final order or not. Thesystem allows the customer to cancel existing order. IntroductionIn today’s age of fast canteen automation in the canteen, many canteenshave chosen to focus on quick preparation and speedy delivery of orders. Untilvery recently, all of this delivery of orders were placed over the phone, butthere are many disadvantages to this system, including the inconvenience of thecustomer needing to have a physical copy of the menu, lack of a visualconfirmation that the order was placed correctly, and the necessity for thecanteen to have an employee answering the phone and taking orders. The main advantage of an online ordering system is that it greatlysimplifies the ordering process for both the customer and the canteen. When thecustomer visits the ordering web page, they are presented with an interactiveand up-to-date menu, complete with all available options and adjusting pricesbased on the selected options. After making a selection, the item is then addedto their order, which the customer can review the details at any time beforechecking out. This provides instant visual confirmation of what was selected. This system also greatly lightens the load on the canteen’s end, as theentire process of taking orders is automated.

Once an order is placed on theweb page, it is entered into the database and then retrieved, in pretty muchreal-time, by a web-based application on the canteen’s end. Within thisapplication, all items in the order are displayed, along with theircorresponding options and delivery details, in a concise and easy to readmanner. This allows canteen employees to quickly go through the orders as theyare placed and produce the necessary items with minimal delay and confusion. 2.EXISITNG SYSTEM In the existingsystem, the most common payment method is through cash. However, when a studentorders something for dsay 67 Rs and gives a 100 Rs note, the canteen has togive back exact 33 Rs in return.

In many cases, its possible that the canteenowner might not have enough change to give back the exact amout. In such ascenario, canteen owner maintains a notebook in which he keeps a track of eachstudent’s money record. Such notebook maintainance is extremely tedious andinefficient. RFID has beenaround for quite a lot of time but since the cost of RFID is high it isrestricted to high capital businesses. Although the costs are falling, RFID isstill more expensive compared to available alternatives. RFID can have problemswith metal and water and can cause mailfunction.

RFID has security issues.Unauthorized devices may be able to read and even change data on tags withoutthe knowledge of the person who owns the object.                                                       2.

The usage of the canteen by the employees depends on manyfactors like centralized food distribution center with swift and simple inoperations. Canteen design provides a user-friendly system that facilitatesquick and efficient operations to cover a larger section of employees within aspecified time. There are canteens that are even paperless andhavealmostcashless transactions.

Thispaper proposes a system to make the whole process easier for both the canteenand for the customers by automating the process on Cloud. With the help ofCloud Computing technology no hardware components and installations arerequired. Hosting on cloud is cost effective than owning individual components.This proposed system bridges the gap between canteen and its usage.

We haveoffered Radio Frequency Identification based card that will be used for thetransactions of each customer at the counter. Also, to reduce the queuesanother method to order and pay is through mobile based app where deductionsare carried out directly from the customer’s account. Account can be rechargedthrough online transfer and e-wallets.

Similarly food facilities provided in canteen in various companies.In this canteen students or employees pay their bills by cash.

In previoussystem, cash payment is the only option for making the payment. This is thecase for small canteens. In rare cases some big canteens credit card facilityis provided.

The main drawback of cash payment system is that user always needsto carry the cash with him/her. And he/she needs to pay the exact amountotherwise there is problems for the remaining amount. One more problem is thatin colleges the students are going to have food in the same canteen throughoutthe month. In such cases an account of students is maintained in a notebook.Canteen owner writes order details of students on daily basis and at the end ofthe month total is calculated. This method has limitation and draw backs ofmaintaining paper based records. These paper based records can get spoiled ordamaged and data of student account might get lost.

To give an effectivesolution for these problems we have proposed system called “In-Time billingprocess for canteen management system”. For this system canteen owner orcanteen administrative person will give a RFID card to the user. This user canbe a student in case of collages and an employee in case of an organization orcompany.

This system is very effective. Advantage of this system is that it isreally help full and effective for those people who have to go to canteen ondaily basis. They need not to carry cash. A card is allocated to each user anduser can recharge this card with a certain amount.

                                3. Proposed MethodologyEach customerwill know about the most ordered items and about the food items he/she haveordered the most. Hybrid algorithms are used to provide most ordered items They will getunique receipt number for each order placed and hence the delivery will be moreorganized.Previous systemsused RFID cards so to optimize the hardware we opted for payment gateway. Customers cancome cashless and still order for food items and pay using any payment gatewayor using the balance in their personal account.     4.

   Result and Performances             As a result the whole system will be lessmanual and more computerized which in turn will reduce labour cost and mayrequire qualified staff to manage the reception desk. The system will be fasterand efficient. The customer can order food and take away the delivery withouthaving to pay cash or use card because the amount will be deducted from theiraccount itself. Also the customer will know about the frequently ordered itemsby him/her and hence saving the time to scroll through the whole menu.

Thesystem will also show the most ordered items in the canteen using hybridalgorithms.We know thatpreparing each food item approximately takes more than 7 minutes to beprepared, so the customer can place their order and can collect it later basedon their unique receipt number.
