Abstract— The projectentails facilitating better healthcare services using NFC enabled devices. TheNFC enabled devices offer an easy and secure way for self-reporting of healthstatus information. The project involves use NFC tag.
NFC is used to collectimportant information about the patient such as the blood sugar count, pulserate, ECG etc. Thus the doctor can access the patient’s data through just a tap.medical data is confidential information that must not openly be available toanyone with physical access to the storage media. We make a technology toprovide secure and quick access to medical information.It is veryimportant for the treating doctor to properly document the patient under hiscare.
Medical records form an important part of the of a patient. It isimportant for the doctors and medical establishments to properly maintain therecords of patient. It will help them in the scientific evaluation of theirpatient profile, helping in analyzing the treatment results, and to plantreatment protocols. Medical records include a variety of documentation ofpatient’s history, clinical findings, diagnostic test results, preoperativecare, operation notes, post-operative care. · INTRODUCTIONOuraim is to create a system that can use NFC to give a person a unique id thatcan never be erased and will prove to identify a person, we want to create asystem which will help India & its government to digitize India. Also tocreate a system that can use NFC to reducing the paper work required during theregistration of the patient and also eliminates the disadvantages of using RFIDbased system.
Itis very important to maintain efficient software to handle information of apatient. This application provides away to record this information and toaccess these in a simple way. · BASIC CONCEPTTheplanned Near Field Communication (NFC)tag is supposed to hold emergency data.Near Field Communication (NFC) technology to provide secure and quick access tomedical information. The tags can be placed inside the body.

We make a technology to provide secure and quick access tomedical information. · RELATED WORK MedicalRecords are replacing Paper Medical Records which is now considered a keyinitiative in the Healthcare industry. It is because hard copies of medicalrecords are easily lost and damaged and also disappears in case of emergencies.
They are often incomplete with incorrect or missing information. Doctorstherefore end up duplicating tests, making uninformed decisions and delaying care.Attempts have been made, using in both RFID and NFC technologies to convertthem into digital formats.TheNFC based system is used to store copies of the reports generated by the doctorand display them the next time the visit a doctor. Whereas, the RFID basedsystem provided a wider scope to store and retrieve the medical records of thepatients but it was a desktop bound software and required scanner to processthe RFID tags, which led to low portability and data access became obsolete foran on-site attendant in case of an accident.
NFCis a comparatively novel wireless communication technology that is primarilyused for mobile payment and ticketing applications involving smart cards ormobile devices. It is a short range high frequency wireless communicationtechnology that allows data exchange between devices that are about four inchesapart. Due to the majority of NFCapplications using sensitive data, e.g.
, personal details, a comparativelylarge body of scientific literature deals with security aspects in NFCapplications · EXISTING SYSTEMWheneverthere is an emergency in the hospital the doctor has to search all the detailsof the particular patient which is so much time consuming. For example, aperson is suffering from a particular disease and goes to the hospital for thecheckups. So the normal procedure will be the doctor will ask for so manycheckups which is again so much time consuming. There is no intelligence of thesoftware in such cases. In the existing system all the patient details andregarding the tests done to the patients prescribed by the doctor is maintainedmanually by the receptionist. Also there is no proper search technique to checkthe patient information.
· WHATIS TO BE DEVELOPEDWheneverthere is an emergency in the hospital the doctor has to search all the detailsof the particular patient which is so much time consuming.Forexample, a person is suffering from a particular disease and goes to thehospital for the checkups. So the normal procedure will be the doctor will askfor so many checkups which is again so much time consuming. So by using the NFC(near field communication) it will be easy for the doctor to maintain therecord of the patient. In this project there will be a chip which consists of aunique id called as NFC tag.
And that chip will be fixed in the patient’s hand.By using the NFC reader, the doctor will be able to find the previous record ofthe patient which is stored in the cloud. Again if there is any new patientthen the doctor will insert the data in that chip only and that data will bestore in the cloud. So it will make easy for doctor to search any patient’srecord.Patientwill be equipped with NFC tag. The medical application (In-built NFCreader/writer) writes the link of the patient into the NFC tag from smartphone.
To create patient application, we are using ANDROID studio. Althoughsubstantial progress was made in improving the sharing of patient medicalinformation among healthcare providers, professionals still need to address theissue of efficient electronic medical records. In emergency situations,particularly with unconscious, incoherent and unaccompanied patients, providingemergency physicians with a patient’s accurate medical history could be thedifference between life and death · TECHNOLOGYUSEDNear field communication,abbreviated NFC is a type of contactless communication between devices like smartphones or tablets. This type of communication allows a user to wave the smartphone over a NFC compatible device or tap it on a NFC tag tosend/receive information without needing to touch the devices together or gothrough multiple steps setting up a connection. HowIt Works – Thetechnology behind NFC allows a device, known as a reader, interrogator, oractive device, to create a radio frequency current that communicates withanother NFC compatible device or a small NFC tag holding the information readerwants.Passivedevices, such as the NFC tag in smart articles, store information andcommunicate with the reader but do not actively read other devices.Peer-to-peercommunication through two active devices is also a possibility with NFC.Thisallows both devices to send and receive information.
· PATIENTIDENTIFICATION USING NFC TAGSWhenSmart phone are placed near the NFC tag, data will be accessed and this uniqueID will be sent to server to select the appropriate record. This tag can beassigned to patient with a unique ID at the time of registration. NFC basedIdentification developed for Android platform will run in all NFC enabledAndroid smart phones. For successful identification it opens up the patientrecords and display information coming from the backend server system. If not,then the record application displays the message of unidentified ID.
· NFCTag Reader/WriterThewriter/ reader will be in-built so that users do not have to download separateNFC reader/writer, for adding tags and readingotherstag. This also makes it unique and secure form other general tag readers. NFC tag readers are not commonly available in market,as NFC technology is new and developing, its devices and readers are also avery few, some of the latest mobiles have NFC reader implanted in them, hence the app can use thismobile to read and write these tags· SYSTEMREQUIREMENTS & SPECIFICATION HardwareRequirements:Android mobile.NFC Cards.NFC Reader.Server storage.

Result and Analysis Data flow from wireless sensors to NFC enabled devices.Data from the sensor nodes can be transmitted to thebase station node through piece of coding. Through the initialization of thesensor component and using the statement data can be sent to the base stationfrequently.
Since sensor nodes broadcast the data, we need to have certainvalidation to make sure that data received is from the right sensor node. 2. Communication over NFC The NFC Data Exchange Format (NDEF) is a standardizedformat for storing formatted data on NFC tags and for transporting data acrossa peer-to-peer NFC link. The data from the buffer can be incorporated into aNDEF format and can be written to NFC tags. An NDEF record consists of multipleheader fields and a payload field.
The header contains five flags – MessageBegin (MB), Message End (ME), Chunk Flag (CF), Short Record (SR)and ID LengthPresent (IL), as well as a type classification (Type Name Format, TNF), andlength information for fields of variable length, a type identification (Type)and an optional record identifier (ID). 3. Authentication of NFC receiver devices I) At first the receiver will send a data transferrequest along with its International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI) andpublic key. II) The sender then authenticates the receiver with thereceived ID which should be stored prior to start of data transmission. III) If the receiver ID is stored in sender mobile thenthe data communication will begin which provides security and authentication ofreceiver. · CONCLUSIONThe system is aimed to collect the medical data ofpatientsautomatically, from the wireless sensors to basestation, then to the center database. This system is intending to provide ahassle free and smooth medical data access in case of emergency and for dailyroutine basis.
It bridges the gap between patients and doctors in terms ofcommunication and provides a unique and secure platform to interact, thusproviding to better healthcare services. A paperless system which will make theIdentification of a person easier and authentic. Use of NFC tags increaseauthenticity of data as they cannot be overwritten. · FUTURESCOPEIn future NFC devices can be made independent of anyother equipment, like mobile phone in our case. It can be in the form of asmall chip consists of passive NFC tags attached to patient body and there canbe active NFC receiver attached in the patient’s environment. This active NFCreceiver can also be placed in several places in hospital. In this way, it isalso possible to find the patient location. · LIMITATIONS i.
Limited use of NFC enabled devices. Nottoo many phones available in market support NFC. ii. Need to install an application inpatient’s phone that collects the data from base station taken through theserial port. iii.
